Our Story

Buddah Athletics was born from a simple observation: in golf, the polo is the uniform, but no one treats it like performance equipment. For a sport so dependent on precision, presence, and the connection between mind and body, that never made sense. Built by a golfer for golfers, Buddah Athletics was shaped by a lifetime in polos and a firsthand view of their evolution, and too often, their stagnation: inherited shirts from my dad, hand-me-downs from my older brothers, tournament polos, team-issued uniforms, sponsored gear, and the pieces I bought myself, all in pursuit of the one polo that could deliver on every front without compromise.

After years in the game and repeated conversations with both fellow Division I golfers and weekend warriors, the same truth kept surfacing: golf polos have lagged behind the rest of sport. While athletes in nearly every other discipline have seen their apparel evolve to meet the demands of performance, comfort, and style, golfers have largely been left to settle. Buddah Athletics exists to close that gap.

The name Buddah Athletics is rooted in heritage and refined by intention. “Buddah” began as something personal, drawn from Buddenhagen, a family name that became a nickname, but it grew to represent a way of carrying oneself: composed, disciplined, present, and unshaken under pressure. “Athletics” is equally deliberate. Golf has long been surrounded by tradition, but tradition has too often softened the reality of what the sport demands. At a high level, golf is an athletic pursuit measured in control, balance, repetition, and feel. Buddah Athletics was created to unite those worlds: the poise the game requires and the performance it deserves.
